Monkart is an artistic venture by Ujjwal Bunkar, a self-taught illustrator and IIM Calcutta graduate. Inspired by childhood cartoons, he creates Monkfaces, his signature style featuring characters with closed or happy eyes, radiating serenity, charm, and storytelling through every piece
Story Behind Monkart
While searching for meaningful artwork to decorate their own home, Ujjwal and Anjalee, his college-sweetheart-turned-wife, realized there was nothing in the market that truly captured India- its culture, history, food and vibrant colors. Even the options available felt lacking, and they thought they could do better. So, Ujjwal decided to start creating illustrations of Indian cities, then expanded into movies and TV, and eventually into sports, turning Monkart into a home for unique, collectible art that tells a story.

Monkart is a blend of passion, hustle, and a little mischief- built by an artist, a strategist, and a very pampered Chief Happiness Officer. Ujjwal draws, Anjalee sells, and Ollie approves. While he brings art to life, she makes sure it finds a home, and their four-legged boss ensures they work hard enough to keep the treats coming. Together, they turn creativity into something you can frame, gift, and treasure.
